Jamila Batts Capitman, LMHC
Mental Health Clinician
Jamila Batts Capitman is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who believes therapy is a space for deep healing, honest reflection, and soulful connection. She brings warmth, creativity, and authenticity to every session, helping clients feel seen, grounded, and empowered to grow.
Jamila supports clients who are processing grief and loss and those seeking healing around identity-related issues, trauma, and self-esteem. Her approach is direct yet compassionate — an open invitation to explore who you are, how your experiences have shaped you, and how you can move toward greater balance and self-compassion.
She received her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University, where she now serves as an adjunct professor. With a background as an educator, youth development specialist, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion consultant, Jamila integrates cultural awareness and social context into her clinical work. Her professional experience includes roles at McLean Hospital, The Dimock Center, and Simmons University.
Jamila sees therapy as a collaborative journey — one that honors your story and supports you in reconnecting with your inner wisdom, resilience, and power.
